Do It Again

1-2 A prayer of the prophet Habakkuk, with orchestra:
God, I’ve heard what our ancestors say about you,
and I’m stopped in my tracks, down on my knees.
Do among us what you did among them.
Work among us as you worked among them.
And as you bring judgment, as you surely must,
remember mercy.
Habakkuk 3:2 MSG
How awesome would it be to pray with an orchestra?!
On a more serious note, we live in troubling times. The media has skewed the thought process of society to favour that which is contradictory to what the Bible says – what God commands. My heart breaks whenever the world supports modern ideas yet scorns the statutes of the Creator of heaven and earth. How far have we fallen?
But I’m not going to lose hope. This generation and the ones that follow deserve the higher life promised by Jesus Christ. In John 10:10, it says, ‘A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.’ We have been choosing wrong all this time. We have allowed the devil to steal our future, kill our dreams, and destroy our lives. The season of embracing God’s desired destiny for us has arrived. Who wouldn’t want that?
I’ve heard stories of how the Philippines used to rival Japan in Asia. Manila was once known as the Paris of Asia. Philippine Airlines was the first commercial airline in the region. Araneta Coliseum was the first of its kind. Countries such as South Korea and Singapore envied us. Where are we now?
I know we’ve got a long way to go before we join the ranks of the elite once again. I hope and pray, though, that it will happen in our time. If not now, then when?
